Great for the little girl in your family  May 28, 2010
This is a great gift for your daughter, grand daughter, or niece. The art is fantastic and the stories are true with the Bible. Each story is accompanied by an appropriate Bible quote.

Just right for our little girl.  May 13, 2010
We have a 2 year old who loves Bible stories. After we say our family prayers together each night we sit around our rocking chair and read short Bible stories. Our daughter picks one from her Bible story book for me to read. The illustrations are perfect for little girls, but the Bible stories are the same. They are not "changed" to make them somehow more feminine like I feared they might be, doing violence to the message of scripture. Rather, stories are selected accordingly for inclusion, many of them about the heroines in scripture. Each story includes one or two small devotional passages along with the story. There are enough stories in this Bible to be used for a long time, and the construction of the book is very high quality. It is not likely to fall apart with regular handling.

This would make an excellent gift or devotional for the girl, 2-8 in your family. Recommended.

My 7-year-old niece really liked this 'girlie' story Bible!  May 7, 2010
I asked my 7-year old neice, who absolutely loves to read, if she would read this book and let me know how she liked it - I also read the book myself...here's the results!

From a 7-year old girl's point of view: she really liked the stories and the pictures: she couldn't really pick a favorite story, she like them all...she especially liked how long the book is! For her, she loves lots to read, and lots of short stories that are available: she'll want to read it to her 5 and 4 year old brothers at bedtime, and I'm sure they will enjoy it too!

From an adult woman's point of view:
I really like this picture and 'girlie' story Bible: I would especially recommend it for young girls!

"Sweet" time with your kids  Apr 28, 2010
This review comes from my son, who has a 3 and 5 year old.

This book grabbed the eye of my five year old daughter immediately. The cover is very cutely illustrated and well-suited to the book's target audience. My daughter was begging me to read from it before I could get it out of the package. It is important to note that this is not an exhaustive collection of Bible stories, but rather a collection of 40 of the most popular stories from both the Old and New Testament. The book says that the stories are based on the New International Version of the Bible. I found the text to be true to the Biblical account and free of additional or extraneous commentary or manipulation, but at the same time presented in language that was easily understandable by my 3.5 yr old son as well as my 5 yr old daughter. And yes, although it is for "little girls", you will find your boys quickly alongside listening to the accounts of their Biblical heroes. Each story is nicely illustrated with multiple pictures and there is a short verse and meditation at the end. The stories are somewhat short and more geared toward the 3-5 yr old, in my opinion. My 5 yr old likes to hear the stories from this book but then also wants us to read the actual story from the Bible. Overall, this book is an excellent tool to introduce your children to the truth of the Bible without being too heavy or losing their attention.

Biblically Correct Sweetness  Apr 22, 2010
My daughter absolutely LOVES this book! It is geared towards little girls and contains Bible stories and encouraging words for our daughters, granddaughters, nieces, etc. The pictures are bright and colorful and pleasing to the eye, and the stories are accurate. Obviously the stories are not in complete detail, as this is an abbreviated Bible, but what is contained in this particular book is true and accurate with regard to what a regular Bible contains. Highly recommended!!
