 | Challenges us to live our faith Mar 30, 2009 |
A nice book, easy reading. Ultimately challenges us to see how much of the younger son is in us and how much older brother.
His bottom line is a restatement of what St. Francis of Assisi said nearly 800 years ago - "Preach the Gospel continuously. When necessary, use words." | | | | Must read/listen for all disciples Mar 30, 2009 |
| Nearly everyone is familiar with the "Prodigal Son" parable. Though I've preached on the Prodigal son several times and have read and studies much about this passage, Keller's book brought out life giving insights I'd never considered. This book will water your soul. | | | | Fantastic! Mar 29, 2009 |
| Loved this book! My husband and two adult children read it after me. I've recommended it to many of my friends who are also now reading it. Just get it....it's worth it. | | | | The God of Great Expenditure Mar 22, 2009 |
A thoughtful and thought-provoking look at the parable formerly known as the Prodigal Son. His chapter 1 notion of God as 'recklessly spendthrift' and as the God of Great Expenditure justifies buying the book - and the subsequent chapters explore this in more detail.
I appreciated his examination of the elder brother, a big problem that is often ignored when this parable is discussed.

| I read this book twice so far. It is a very inspiring book. (In my opinion its not as inspiring as the little book "Steps to Christ" but it is good.) Either book is easy to read in a couple days and you do not want to put it down. | | | Write your own review about Prodigal God (Six Sessions)
